Garbage disposal repair

A disposal that hums without spinning is usually jammed, not dead. Turn it off at the switch and text a photo of the unit under the sink to (310) 628-9399.

Hums but will not spin

Something is wedged between the plate and the grind ring. With power off, the jam can usually be freed from the hex socket on the bottom of the unit.

After a jam, the motor often trips its own reset button. Pressing it once things are free brings it back.

The reset button and hex socket sit on the bottom of most units.

Leaks under the disposal

Water at the top means the sink flange seal; at the side, usually the dishwasher hose or the drain elbow gasket. Those are fixable parts.

A drip from the body of the unit itself means the inner seals have failed, and replacement is the honest answer.

Replacement on the same connections

When a unit is done, we swap it with one that fits the existing sink flange and drain line where possible, and quote it with the part covered.
